Games 3:1

This kind of games in 3:1 pattern is recommended to the age group of 9-11 years. Picture 1:
The basic formation of 3:1 pattern:
The player with the ball has to assure two options to pass the ball. Practice of the width passes and positioning to the free area. The player with the ball is allowed to pass only to the mate who is next to him. Passing the ball diagonally is not allowed. In every case the defender attacks the opponent in a very intensive manner. After gaining the ball he tries to possess it, while the other three opponents try to regain the ball. After regaining the possession of the ball, the game can be started again.

Picture 2:
After passing the ball to one of the open mates, the third player has to run into free position to make two chances for the players with the ball to pass.

Picture 3-4:
After passing the ball to one of the open mates, the third player has to run into free position. In the process of practice we have to decrease the number of passes from 2-3 towards a direct pass to the mate.

Picture 5:
Formation of 2 courts. There is one player on the second court. The aim is: after width passes the ball has to be passed by depth pass to the spearhead forward mate. At the beginning of the game the action starts with a formational game.

Picture 6:
The players become prepared to the depth passes with the positional game; the ball has to be passed by depth pass to the spearhead forward mate in tempo.

Picture 7:
After passing the ball to the spearhead forward player the defender and the two offensive players move to the other court, and they start the positional game.

Picture 8:
During the positional game the players become prepared to the depth passes, and to hit the open mate on the other court in tempo.

Picture 9:
The players play positional game on the first court. After passing the ball to the spearhead forward, who is on the second court, another defender comes to gain possession of the ball. While they are playing; the player who remains on the first court relaxes. After a new depth pass to the first court, the players start the 3:1 game again. Now the second defender relaxes on the second court.

Picture 10:
The aim of the defender who moves parallel to the line, which is placed between the two courts is to inhibit the depth passes or the pass to the spearhead forward. The spearhead forward with his continous movement between the two cones tries to make a chance to receive the ball. The defenders (if they regain possession the ball) possess the ball with continuous passing or leading it out of the court. The offensive players have to regain possession of the ball by narrowing the field or bí preventing the defenders from leading the ball out.

Picture 11:
After passing to the spearhead forward, the two lateral offensive players run to the other court, and start positional game. The defender, placed on the first court tries to inhibit the positional game, while the other defender who is moving parallel on the line between the two courts tries to inhibit the depth pass.
