Games 5:2

Games in 5:2 pattern are to be used to practice the possession of the ball. The size of the playing field is 12*24m, which can be modified depending on the aim of the game and the previous experience of the players. The two players who try to gain possession of the ball have to change their position.

2 inner defender, 2 lateral defender,
1 midfielder or 2 spearhead forward and
3 midfielders

3 defender
(right side, middle and left side)
and 2 midfielder or 3 attacker
and 2 midfielders

1 inside player is on the field
in middle position.
Always between or behind the two defenders.

The players who control the ball can be in
the following position:
2 inner defender, 3 midfielder.
One of the midfielders player has to be in middle position

Or 3 defender and 2 midfielders,
one of the players has to be in middle position

The players and the playing field can be positioned
in any other part of the court according to the position of the players.

Tasks
Possession of the ball (with a limited number of passes), depending on the previous experience of the players: The players next to the player with the ball move towards the opponent player. The player on the other side moves between the two opponent players to make a chance for depth passes. If we use a midfield player, we tell him not to move so close to the player with the ball due to narrowing the field, and that he always has to move between the two defenders to make a chance for rotation.

After losing the possession of the ball,
the aim is to regain the possession
by narrowing the field.

After regaining possession,
open the field and passing.

The defenders try to regain possession of the ball, one of the players attacks the player with the ball, while the other blocks the possible way of the pass. The possible tasks when regaining possession of the ball are:

  • Possession of the ball as long as possible with unlimited number of passes.
  • Shield the ball out of the field in any direction or definite direction as defined by the coach.
  • Pass to the teammates who are out of the playing court.
  • Shoot on goal, (the goal is placed out of the court).
