From a small-sized field to a full-sized field
The most critical time for a child during the process of learning is when he/she steps up from a small-sized field to full-sized field, and starts playing in a league system. This is also the age when the child goes through tremendous changes in his/her own personal life. He starts looking at the world and even his own performance through a very critical eye. The child has been driven by parents and even coaches to win up to this point in his life, now they expect him to do the same. Playing in full-sized fields and in a league system is equivalent – in the eyes of many - with the expectations of winning. However switching to a full-sized field is only the next tool in the process of competition. There are lots of aspects of collective game that a child needs to acquire to be able to produce wins and results when it matters.

Only the correct sized fields based upon the features of certain age groups support the process of learning for a child in soccer. There are so many players at a given moment in a given area with sizes a child cannot even comprehend. They meet more often with the ball. They move more and their concentration cannot drop. Due to the tight playing areas the game situations such as 1:1, 2:2, 3:3, 4:4 present themselves more frequently and repeatedly with different requirements, while the rhythm of the play changes quite often. They can attack and defend more. Children will move from small-sized fields to full-sized fields from the age of 12. This is a very big step for children to take in this learning process since they have to change from the usual 7+1 line-up to the 11:11 line-up.
